Meatballs and Mango Salsa
the freezer, I decided to make meatballs using Nigella Lawson's recipe which I saw on TV. I made some changes in the recipe. I made 2 batches of the meatballs - fried and baked. The baked meatballs are the healthier version and it actually tasted just as good as the fried meatballs. Just make sure you don't over bake it as your meatballs will turn very dry. These meatballs are ideal for snacks or it can be serve to your guests as finger food. It's really yummy. Besides that, you can also have your meatballs serve together with your pasta. Apparently the meatballs and the mango salsa went well together. Both the taste matches really well. haha...
Anyway, while waiting for Doink to come back from his usual Sunday sports, I decided to display the meatballs in a special way. hehe...
Fried Meatballs
Just have got nothing better to do. *hehe*

Korea Qing Zhou Restaurant (Midvalley Megamall)

Complimentary Starters
We were served with some complimentary starters. They were Kim chi, fried anchovies, mung beans, spinach and some pickle thingy. hehe... It tasted alright. Nothing fantastic but the fried anchovies and Kim Chi are nice.
Anyway, I ordered the stone pot rice with chicken. The stone pot comes with a bowl of sauce and you add it in the pot according to your taste and mix it. I would recommend you to mix it the moment your food arrives as there is a raw egg yolk in the centre of the pot. So you want the heat in the pot to cook the yolk a bit when mixing it in the pot. It's quite yummy actually.

Stone Pot Rice
While I had my stone pot rice, Doink ordered his stir fry beef on a hot plate. This dish is actually quite yummy. I loved it so much. The beef is so tender and there is some tung fun stir fry together with the beef. It comes with a fried egg on top and a bowl of rice. Anyway, this dish goes very well with my stone pot rice. hehe...

Stir Fry Beef On A Hot Plate
One of my friends ordered this Seafood Kim Chi Soup. Not really sure what that is. I tried a bit and find that there is not enough taste and it wasn't spicy enough. This soup comes with a bowl of rice even though there is some tong fun in the soup.

Seafood Kim Chi Soup
Overall, the food here is not bad. Might return to this place if I ever go to Midvalley. Chances are very slim as I hardly go to Midvalley. hehe... Anyway, thanks to all my dear friends for the treat and pressie. Love ya guys! Oh ya, they bought me some nail polish. Hmmm, I wonder whether I will use it as I cook so often, I don't want my food to be contaminated with the nail polish. hehe....

Assorted Muffins
was nice but I was still blur when I reached Centrepoint McD. Ooh, ordered my favourite McEgg Muffin. Loved it so much. If only they have McD Breakfast all day. Just can't have enough of it. I wanted to have another one but was thinking that it was still early morning, and I still have the whole day of calorie intake. So better not stuff myself with too much calories. My tray of assorted muffins (stole one of it the moment it came out from the oven. Couldn't resist it. *grin*)
.
enough cheese on it. Should add in the batter instead of just putting it in the centre. I was trying to make the Starbucks Blueberry Cheese muffin. I fell in love with that when I had it. hehe... Anyway, to those muffin lovers, they should try making these yummy & sinful blueberry cheese muffins. Monday, March 12, 2007
Dae Jang Geum, Korean BBQ, Section 14
Complimentary Starters
.
I didn't really get the chance to look at the menu as Doink's friend ordered everything. So wasn't sure about the price of the variety of food they have in there. Had Korean Tea, and I have to say that I didn't enjoy the tea. It tasted weird. I think Japanese green tea is still the best.
We started off with lots of different kind of starters. I think it's complimentary and you can ask for more if you want. They tasted quite good. Than there was this fried tung hoon which tasted so yummylicious. I just couldn't stop scooping it. Greedy me! *grin* It actually tasted a bit like our Chinese style of fried tung hoon with black pepper sauce. But this one tasted better. There were also steamed egg and some corn cook with milk and ham I think. Not sure if those are Korean food but it does taste good.. haha... Oh ya, the tung hoon, egg and corn are not complimentary thus you cannot ask for more once you have finished it. We also ordered a type of Korean pancake. Didn't managed to grab a picture of it and the taste is passable.
.
.
And here comes the meat. We ordered a set. So there were chicken, beef, and lamb. I was sitting right in front of the stove. So by the end of the meal, my body is full of meat and charcoal smell. Oh ya, they use charcoal to cook the meat. That's why the meat taste so much nicer. And it's healthy too as I did not see the staff adding any oil while cooking the meat. Oh ya, they also give some vegetables for you to wrap the meat to eat together with it.
.
Can't wait for the meat to be cooked
.
Then there were more food coming. A big pot of seafood steamboat was brought over to our table. Inside the pot, there were plenty of taugeh, prawns, mini crab, squid, carrots and oysters. We were surprised that there weren't any fish in it. Sob sob.... Anyway, the soup is awesome. The spiciness does give you a kick. Oooh, the more you drink, the better it taste. Doink did not really touch the soup as he felt too spicy, and I finished his one as well... *grin*
.
Seafood -yum yum
.
By the end of the meal, we couldn't get off our chairs... haha.. Okie, I exaggerated about that. But we all did feel super full. A great dinner spent with some great friends. What more can you ask for? hehe.... I definitely will come back here to try their food again.

Brioche
Making this mini Brioche are actually time consuming as you have to leave the dough to rise. By the time you finish kneading the dough, you have to put it aside for about 30minutes. And after that you shape your mini brioche and again you have to leave it aside until it is well risen. Oh gosh, you really have to be very patient coz it practically takes about 2hours preparation time just before you can bake it.
