Polish Crepes

Went to the curve one of the Saturdays and it was pretty late at that time. Most shops were about to close. At that time, Borders were occupying the centre court of the curve and it was having sales. I quickly went to look at cookery books before it close and found this Russian, German & Polish recipe all in one book. The book is pretty thick and it was only RM15. What a bargain. Was really happy with the book and there were so many different recipes to look at. Hehe....

My Precious!!!

Polish Crepes is one of the recipe featured in the book. Crepes are beautiful and I remembered having my first crepe in UK. It was beautiful and the crepe that I have was stuffed with full of ham, cheese, mushrooms.... Ooooh, yummy! I miss it a lot as I can never find a good one here in Malaysia. The crepe sold here are thin and there are barely any stuffing in it.

Crepes can be made savoury or dessert. However, I chose to make it as a dessert this time round. Making the batter is pretty simple and it doesn't require much effort. Just flour, egg, milk and pan fry the batter. That's it.

Refreshing Lemon

Than prepare the stuffing. As for the stuffing, the recipe recommended to use ricotta cheese but I didn't have it at that time. So I used cream cheese instead. Just mix the cream cheese with icing sugar and a bit of lemon and then mix the raisins together with it.

Crepe with cream cheese raisins stuffing

Spread the stuffing inside the crepe and wrap it beautifully. Sprinkle some icing sugar and use the lemon as garnishing. Crepe is ready to be served. Yummy!!! If you like it, serve it with a scoop of vanila ice-cream.

Ready to be served!

Another option one can use for the stuffing is cottage cheese. It should taste good too and less sinful as well compared to cream cheese. Good for those weight consicus people like me. *smile*

Another good and simple dessert to prepare.

Something sinfulliciously good....

Life is just so good if you pamper yourself with something sinfulliciously yummy - CHOCOLATES.... Chocolates are always good especially dark bitter chocolate for me. So I ended up treating my dearest Doink a flourless chocolate cake served with vanila chocolate ice cream.

Chcolate cake topped with Vanila Chocolate Ice Cream

Drizzle it with some lovely Chocolate syrup.

Chocolate Syrup

And it is ready to be served. Darn, I forgot to top the cake with icing sugar. Oh well, less calories goes in the body. *grin* But the dessert was heaven. Definitely something worth making. Hehe... I'm so lazy that nowadays I'm making easy dessert. Hmm, I must stop being lazy and start thinking of something tough to make. hehe...

Can't I just cook and bake full time. Anyone willing to support me to do a diploma in culinary arts? Wish I could bake a career in that line. *smile*

Egg Fettucini Carbonara

It's Monday again and it's back to work again. Sigh! I'm sure most of us is reluctant to get back to work. But anyway, my weekend was kinda relaxing but yet busy. I did do a bit of cooking and baking here and there but I was also catching up with my work. So I was sitting in front of my PC to check my emails.

Bacon... Yummy!

Anyway, as usual Doink will come over around lunch time on Sunday. I cooked him a lovely Egg Fettucini Carbonara. It's a very simple dish to cook but tremendously sinful. I usually make him a healthy version by using milk. But this time round I'm feeling a bit generous. I used cream instead and of course the taste is much nicer as the calories is way way much higher. Hehe... *smile*

Carbonara...

All you need to use to cook this dish is bacon, cream, onions, egg, salt, pepper and basil. That's it. You can't go wrong cooking this dish. You can also add some mushrooms if you are a mushroom lover. Hmm, not sure what else you can add in. Any ideas? Oh, of course you also need pasta. Fettucini goes really well with it and I would recommend you to use this pasta if you are cooking carbonara.

After the lovely lunch meal, Doink went to sleep. Hehe... His presence made me feel happy even though he was just sleeping through the whole afternoon. *Lazy Doink*.... Hmm, there goes my Sunday. Now I have to wait for another 5 days more before my weekend arrives. *sob sob*... Oh, also prepared some sinful dessert for him. Will blog in my next post. hehe....

Hope everyone have a lovely week!!!

Foodelicious, Now Foodypretty

Have been late in updating my blog. That's because I was so caught up with my work that I didn't have the time to blog. Sorry to all my readers.

Anyway, this time I'm going to blog about Cake decoration. I attended a cake decoration class sometime last week. It was a 2 full day class. So I didn't have any rest for the whole week. It was a tiring week. But I did enjoy my class.

Rose bud

Just want to share some amazing cake decoration things that I had done during the class. I learnt loads of things and it was worth spending the money to learn the skills. Afterall it has always been my dream to learn all this skills. Now that I have learned the basic, I'm going to practice more.

Leaves

It's actually not difficult at all once you learned how to create all this lovely decoration. You don't have to spend a fortune to buy a beautiful cake.

Embroidery

After mastering all these skills, I just need to practice more and hopefully I can decorate it more beautiful. At the moment, I still find that my skills is kinda crappy.

Well, whose birthday is coming up next? I'm going to bake you a cake with loads of butter cream on top. Hehe... *laughing loudly*.... That's sinful and loads of calories contain in it. Well, that's the price to pay for pretty cakes.

Wedding Bells, Any Takers?

Anyway, after learning all these skills, I'm so tempted to make my own wedding cake next time. *giggle* But loads of practice needed.

Sabah Trip - 2nd Day

Gonna share loads of food pictures here. Make sure you ate something before looking at my blog. hehe...

Anyway, breakfast was nothing special. It's the same typical breakfast buffet that you will be getting at any of the hotel. So not going to share or talk much about it.

Brekkie

Here, are some of the pictures which I took in the resort. It's beautiful with loads of trees surrounding the area. The place is very relaxing and it's a great place to be just to relax and do nothing. There is a big pool and also a big area for you to play sports and there is also a place at the beach for you to play volleyball.

Beautiful Scenery from my room

Big Field to play sports

Pool
.
If you are a chess lover, there is a gigantic chess set for you to play with your partner. hehe.... This chess pieces are really heavy and you have to really lift it up with all your strength. I had a hard time lifting it up.

Gigantic Chess Set
.
I decided to go to town since I had never been to Sabah. Just want to explore the area. There is nothing much to see in Sabah and apparently they are not building the largest shopping mall in SEA. So guys, if you really want to shop, go to Sabah. But I think it will only be ready in a year time.
This building caught my attention as it looks like the building in Cyberjaya. It's the minister's office. Even the street lamps are similar with the Cyberjaya one. hehe..

Minister's Office
It's lunch time. My colleauge was suppose to bring us to this Japanese Buffet place. We took a long walk and guess what, the place was closed for renovation. *sob sob*... Then we went to this place called Little Italy.

Little Italy (from the outside)

It's a beautiful place. The interior design is kinda comfortable and relaxing and I bet it can be pretty romantic at night time.

6 of us decided to share our food so that we can try different types of food. First we ordered the carbonara pasta. The pasta is creamy and tasty. I definitly love it. Better than many other Italian restaurant. It doesn't give you the sickening feeling after having it.

Carbonara Pasta (GOOD)
We also ordered another type of red sauce pasta. Don't know what it's called but it's quite bland. So I didn't like it compared to the carbonara.

Tomato base pasta

The pasta comes with garlic bread and salad since we ordered the set lunch. There is nothing to shout about for the pasta but the garlic bread is good. They are quite generous with the garlic butter. So it was definitely yummy!

Garlic Bread and Salad

This is a yummylicious bruchetta. It's served with salmon. The salmon added more flavour to it and it goes so well with the tomatoes and I find it so good!!! Definitely must try!!!

Bruchetta with salmon

Next up is the Pizza. This is a meat pizza which comes with pepperoni, turkey ham, chicken. It's another delicious food that I had there. The thinness is just nice and the base taste kinda nice.

Meat Pizza
We also try another type of pizza which I forgot what it was. *giggle*. All I could remember that it taste nice. There is mushrooms, turkey ham, olives and pineapple (if I'm not mistaken)

(Unknown) Pizza
We also tried one of the meat dish. This chicken is cooked with red sauce and served with rice, chewy bread stix and vegetable cooked with creamy sauce. Oooh, gorgeous. (now I'm hungry)

Chicken Dish

We were pretty full by the time we finish all of the food but we still want to try the desserts. haha.... We ordered 3 different types of desserts. First is the chocolate mousse. Creamy, chocolatey... I feel like I'm in heaven. But this is best shared with someone else as it will get quite sickening after a while.

Chocolate Mousse

Than there is Creme Caramel which tasted horrible. The texture was tough and it wasn't the smooth Creme caramel that I always had. Disappointed.

Creme Caramel

Finally we had the tiramisu. Oooh, yummy!!! Not to sweet, creamy... Just perfect.

Tiramisu
We were superbly full by the end of our lunch and it was almost 3 at that time. We walked round the town. Like I said, there is nothing much in Sabah. But there are popular with their seafood, salted fish, anchioves....
You can get all those stuff at quite a reasonable price.

Look at the gigantic salted fish
Anyway, after finish walking, we went to catch the bus and went back to the hotel. It's almost 5 by the time we reach back. So were kinda tired. Took a shower and guess what, it's time to gather at the lobby to go somewhere outside to have seafood dinner. I was still feeling kinda full but then how could I resist seafood since I love it so much. :)

First dish is some kind of fish soup. It taste a bit like shark fin soup but then this soup is cooked with fish tongue and another part of the fish. Taste wasn't good at all. I didn't like it.

Fish soup

Then here comes my favourite part of my meal. Steam prawns. Haha... I love it so much. The prawns are so fresh and thank god they steam it instead of cooking in some other kind of way. I usually love the taste of steam prawns. I had so many of it that I lost count how many of these little creature I took. *laugh*

Steam Prawns

Oooooh, another disappointing dish. This is a scallop dish which is cooked with some black sauce. It's so salty and the sauce cover the taste of the scallop. Shouldn't cook it this way. Bad choice...

Scallops

Here is the fish which is cooked with some spicy sauce. Again, the sauce covered the taste of the fish. Didn't like it at all.

Fish in some kind of sauce

Here comes another yummy dish. Lobsters!!!! Hehe... Well, the lobsters are cooked with cheesy sauce. Kinda nice and the texture of the lobsters meat is kinda tough. Hmmm, if I have to pay for this dish, i wouldn't order. I rather have my prawns. hehe...But anyway, this dish is still good.

Lobster in Cheese Sauce

Than we have this stuffed chicken. It taste kinda weird. It's suppose to be served with mayonaise. It seems that the mayonaise has been sitting in room temperature for hours as you can see so much oil in the bowl. *YUCKS*

Stuffed Chicken served with Mayonaise

This is also another yummy dish. Steam Crab. The way they display the crabs is kinda obscene. hehe.... Anyway, good... Freshness of the crab can be tasted.

Steam Crab with Rice Wine
This is some kind of weird vegetable. I felt like I was eating sticks. It's cooked with sambal belacan. Nice to have when you want to chew on something. hehe...

Some kind of vegetable

And here comes the desserts. It's coconut pudding. Nice and refreshing especially after a full meal.

Coconut pudding

Oh, by the time the dinner ended, I was superbly full. I was already full before I started my dinner. hehe... I could barely walk after that. *smile* We went back to hotel after dinner and just hang around by the pool side till late and there goes my 2nd day in Sabah.

Sabah Trip 1st Day

As promised, I'm going to blog about my company trip at Nexus Resort, Karambunai, Sabah. It was an amazing trip and I did enjoy myself over there.

Anyway, by the time I arrived at the resort, it was like about 2pm. And we had to check in, have our lunch and rush for our company meeting at 3pm. So I didn't really get a chance to take much pictures.

Lunch area

This place is suppose to be a 5 start resort but I somehow do not feel it. The place where I had my lunch was kinda disappointing. There isn't much variety of food and the taste of the food was so-so only. But there were a few dish which was amazing.

My lunch

This is my first plate of main course. The chicken is gorgeous. It's grilled chicken served with mango chutney. Besides that, the pumpkin serves with butter sauce was sinfully gorgeous. hehe... The rest of the food was ok. So not going to talk much about it.

Desserts

Here comes the best part- desserts. To be honest, there is nothing to shout about the desserts. But there is one particular dessert which was really gorgeous - Chocolate Banana Pudding serves with vanila sauce.

Was half way eating and I realise that it was 3pm. Quickly rush to the ballroom for the company meeting. I was so sleepy and I almost fell asleep during the meeting. hehe... With my tummy so full, I can easily fall asleep.

Ballroom

The meeting ended at 61.15pm. I then only had the chance to finally step into my room with my roomate. I was pretty lucky as I had a room which is connected with my 2 adorable colleagues. 4 of us including my roomate was having so much fun. haha...

My room

Anyway, we had to rush again as we have a performance to perform on stage. Not going to share those embarassing photos. hehe... So we quickly took a shower and wore our costumes and went down to the ballroom to have out dinner.

Beautiful Toilet

Was still feeling full but somehow I still wanna eat. *grin*

Dinner was worse than lunch. The food was kinda sucky. I didn't manage to find anything interesting at all. All the food taste quite horrible to be honest. Hmm.... so disappointed.

Than comes the desserts. Only the macaroons with chocolate icing and the chocolate cake taste nice. The rest of it was kinda normal.

But then those interesting performance actually take my mind off about the terrible food that was being served. Hehe....

After the whole dinner and performance, we went back to our room. We had a bunch of friends came over to our room just to hang out. I doze off as I was pretty tired. Anyway, I seriously didn't manage to visit any place or do anyhting on the first day. But you have to keep up with my blog as there are more interesting food picture on the 2nd day. *smile*
