The Time Has Come....

The time has finally arrived! It was my last day at my workplace and I'm moving on to another company. I'm gonna miss most of my colleagues (you know who you are) and they are the ones who keep me alive during working hours and they bring laughter, joy and happiness to me.

My boss decided to have a farewell lunch for me. However, we all cannot go out lunch together at the same time. So thus we had no choice but to order pizza so that we can feast together. We ordered from Canadian Pizza. This is in fact my first time trying it and I find it pretty delicious compared to Dominoes (definitely) and Pizza Hut (comparable). Well, you guys can give it a try. Moreover, they have this promotion of buy 1 free 1 pizza. So it's kinda worth it.

First up was the seafood platter. This platter costs RM9.80. It comes together with tartar sauce. Best served while it's hot. We also ordered some garlic bread which is pretty sinful as they were so genorous with the amount of garlic butter on the bread.

Than comes the pizza. We had Canadian Classic Pizza which I highly recommend to anyone who wants to try Canadian Pizza. If you don't eat beef, simply ask for the beef pepperoni to be swap with chicken pepperoni.

Canadian Classic Pizza

And we also ordered a typical Hawaian Chicken Pizza. Tastewise is quite tasteless. Not recommended.

Hawaian Chicken Pizza

Seafood pizza is quite good. They are quite genorous with the toppings.

Seafood pizza

Meat Lovers Pizza is supposedly to be very good and it's highly recommended by some food bloggers. But however, I find it quite disappointing. It doesn't taste as great as what I had expected and I find that there is not enough meat on the pizza. Probably I have high expectation.

Meat Lovers Pizza

Although I had only spent few months with these bunch of lovely colleagues, I had in fact actually fell in love with all of them. I felt so comfortable hanging around with them although at times we do have PMS. hehe....

Actually in fact I do not treat them as my colleagues. I treated them as my friends. Friends that I can share anything with.

Ignore that guy...

Yuen's Steamboat... Yummy!

Gone nutz.... thanks to the prawns

Posing around

Miss ya most

Gonna miss all those laughters, arguments, jokes, crazy lunch meal etc....Million hugz to all of you.

Last but not least, the sweetest Zoee bought me this lovely tiramisu cake. It's light and delicious. Thank you so much Zoee. Oh, I also had another farewell lunch at Bella Italia. No pictures taken but do go give it a try. The food there (Subang Jaya or SS2) is fantastic and you will never regret dining there.

Doink special request....

Doink has been pestering me to make lasagna for like about a month already. I just somehow totally forgot about his request when the weekend comes. I will end up making something else for him or I'm too busy to actually cook for him. *feeling bad*

But then I finally decided to fulfil his request and bought the necessary ingredients to prepare the lasagna. It wasn't that long ago that I made a typical lasagna (twin sauce) for him but he told me that he was actually requesting for a white sauce lasagna.

White Sauce Lasagna

I actually came up with this white sauce lasagna few years back. I'm a carbonara lover and I also love lasagna . Thus I was wondering whether both of my favourites can combined together to be as one. That's when this White Sauce Lasagna came up and Doink love it so much ever since then.

Ready to be served

This lasagna should be eaten right away and it's really good if it's served together with garlic bread. Yummy! Now Doink is a happy man again. =) *smiling*

Tau Sar Pneah aka Tambun Biscuit

Well, when I was in Penang, I was really lucky that I met a really sweet guy who bought me 2 lovely boxes of Tau Sar Pneah in Penang. =D

As he knew that I'm not familiar with the area in Penang and I wanted it so much, he bought it for me. He gave it to me for free although I told him that I would pay him back.

In Penang, I had tried Him Heang and Ghee Hiang and this is my first time trying Dragon Pearl Biscuit. Apparently it is one of the popular Tau Sar Pneah in Penang.

2 boxes of Tambun Biscuit

The Dragon Pearl Biscuit is made of Lard so the taste will be much better compared to using vegetarian oil. I can safely recommend this Dragon Pearl Biscuit to those Tau Sar Pneah lovers.

Well, I took a picture of the address and ingredients below. Go get a box now in Penang and try it. I'm sure you gonna like it. But till today I still don't know whether Him Heang or this Dragon Pearl is better.

Oh well, I seriously would like to thanks Ben for being so nice to buy it for me. Really made my day...... =)

Lite FM Kitchen Guest Urban Bistro Hotel Istana

I'm lucky again. I won 4 invites to have free yummy lunch at Urban Bistro at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur. The place is beautiful and relaxing. I like the design, lighting and almost everything in that place. It's actually pretty comfortable to dine there. I'm sure that it might be quite romantic to dine there at night. So guys, you can consider bringing your other half over here.

Beautiful place with a piano

Colourful lightings

Again, there is a cooking demo. They chose one of the winning recipes and cook up the nice simple and lovely dish.

Cooking demonstration

I do not know what it is called. I think it's called Chargrilled Salsa Chicken served together with Couscous. I was so happy as I thought that we were going to be served with this dish as I have been wanting to eat couscous so badly. I remembered the last time I had couscous was during my time working in Halls of Residence at UK. It's lovely...

Chargrilled Salsa Chicken served with couscous

But we got conned. Instead of couscous, we were served with potatoes. *sob sob*.... But anyway, there is not much to complain about this dish. The chargrilled chicken is lovely and the salsa goes really well with it. The potatoes is roasted just nicely and I actually enjoyed it a lot. Doink is a happy man coz he loves roast potatoes.

Chargrilled Salsa Chicken served with roast potatoes

I'm also a happy person that day as my recipe was chosen as one of the winning recipes. It's called Teriyaki Prawns served with special dipping sauce. I love it so much as I'm a prawn lover. But I find that they overcooked it as the meat was a bit dry.

Teriyaki Prawns

I won 3 days 2 nights stay at Hotel Istana including breakfast. haha... Doink and I felt so lucky as both of us were planning to go for a holiday this month. With this voucher, we can have a holiday in KL. Well, I don't mind having a holiday in KL. Afterall I hardly go to KL. I'm a PJ girl. hehe...

My vouchers.... *smile*

We were served with local fruits as desserts. The laicy are really sweet and it taste really good. But I'm a bit disappointed as I somehow expected some yummylicious cakes to be served at the end of the meal. Oh well, can't ask for much when the food is free isn't it. :)

Actually Doink and I felt that we had a very healthy meal that day for lunch. hehe.. But overall all the food was really good. I saw that they also serve Wagyu Beef. I'm not sure if it will taste good but it cost about RM89 if I'm not mistaken. Well, you can go try and let me know if it's nice. hehe....

Restaurant Peranakan House....

1 Utama is probably the place I hang out most. Anyway, there was a Movie Carnival Event going on. Doink and I were walking around the new wing and saw some of the familiar faces walking around. Guess who? Darth Vader and gang. However, Vader seems to have gotten a bit of an ego. He was putting his arms around the people who take pictures with him. It looks so farnee.... hehe.... What does he has to be proud of? He lost the war, got his own ship destroyed and lost both arms. Well, he did save his son but.....

But the Stormtroopers actually look really cool. I love them a lot. They knew how to pose and act like a trooper unlike the poser Darth Vader. =P

Alright, enough of Star Wars crap. Here, I'm gonna share the pictures of what I had with Doink's family at the Restaurant Peranakan House in Taman Sea. I don't really know what the food name is called as the food were already ordered by the time I reach there. I didn't even look at the menu. So gonna share some pictures of what I had on that day.

This vegetable taste was just alright. I think my mom can cook better than this. I find it pretty oily as well.

The curry chicken is quite flavourful and delicious. It is yummy with rice.

This is my favourite dish. The mango kerabu on top of the fish gives the sweet flavour to the fish. I love it so much. And a bit of the cili padi gives the sweet spicyness to the fish. Oooh, yummy!

The picture taken is a bit blur coz everyone wanted to start eating already. This boxing chicken is good. Definitely worth ordering.

This is just a very simple and normal Ju Hu Char. In fact Doink's mom can make way much better than this. Nothing really special about this.

Ladies fingers - Not bad. The chili topping is really yummy. I like the kick of the taste!!! But too bad, I'm not a ladies fingers fan.

Petai fried together with something. I didn't try it coz I'm not a fan of Petai. hehe....

Overall the food is quite good. It's worth a try. The taste of the food is kinda home cooked food. So if your mom or you is a good cook in Chinese food, don't bother trying. hehe...

Yummy Tuna Cheesilicious Bun

I'm back back back from my work trip - Penang and Taiping.... Oooh, it was a hectic trip but then I did enjoy my time over there. Met some lovely nice people over there and there was even a sweet guy who bought me Tau Sar Peah.... I'm so touched.... *blush*

Anyway, this is a bun I made quite some time ago for Doink. It's Tuna Cheese Bun. Tuna sandwich are just gorgeous. When I was in UK, I was working in a sandwich shop and I notice that many British people actually love to eat tuna sandwich. Anyway, when I came back I found that Tuna added with cheese sandwich taste even more superbly beautiful. hehe... You gotta try it if you are someone who loves tuna and cheese.

Anyway, since I was still excited about baking buns, I made Tuna Cheese Bun. I stuff the bun with Tuna mix (Tuna, Cheese, Mayonaise, Pepper and Salt). When it's baking, the cheese will melt and it taste just so good the moment it comes out from the oven.

Tuna Cheese Bun

So simple and easy to make. Perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Threesome Tuna Bun

With some dough left, I made some plain buns to serve together with butter and jam for breakfast.

Oooh, I'm craving for carbohydrate... Bread Bread!!!! *grin*

Weekend Lunch..... Chicken + Mango Salsa

Woke up one of the Sunday morning and felt very very sleepy. Didn't feel cheerful, bubbly, hyper or smiley. Just sobbing at the corner of my room with my laptop hugging my beloved fatty penguin. (Doesn't my penguin look depress too) Don't know why I was feeling like this. I just hate this feeling. Alright, enough of the depress feelings. I no longer feel like this now anyway.

Anyway, I promised Doink to cook for him a lovely lunch. And I actually came up with the menu few days back. With so many mangoes in my fridge begging me to execute them, I decided to cook Mango Salsa Chicken. A very healthy, simple and unique dish. It's excellent for those who loves mangoes with the salsalish taste. I just love mixing all the flavours and come up with some strange and weird recipes. hehe...
.
Mango Salsa Chicken

I prepared the Mango Salsa one day ahead. I just put onions, red chilis, mangoes, raisins, lime, black pepper and salt to taste and mix it. Leave it in the fridge. You may add green peppers to make it more colourful. But Doink ain't a fan of any peppers so I didn't put it in.

Than I marinated the chicken overnight with honey, mango sauce, soy sauce, garlic and onion. Grill the chicken for about 20 minutes. Once it is ready, slice the chicken and serve it with the Mango Salsa Sauce. Simple isn't it!!! So colourful, lovely and healthy too.

My lovely creation

Of course Mango Salsa Chicken is not going to be enough for Doink. Since he was asking me to cook chicken kiev again for him, I just made him another kiev since I still have some home made garlic butter. I added something more this time instead of just garlic butter. I stuffed the chicken with a slice of bacon ham and cheddar cheese together with the garlic butter. And cover the whole chicken with flour and semolina (cause I did not have any breadcrumbs) and just bake it in the oven for about 20 minutes or till it's brown. *drooling*

Chicken Kiev with Bacon & Cheese

Made some mashed potatoes to go with the Chicken Kiev. I added some mozarella cheese and bacon ham in the mashed potatoes to give it more flavour. Oooh, gorgeous especially when it's hot.

Mashed Potatoes with Bacon Ham & Mozarella Cheese

Of course I always have some spare time to bake something. Since I haven't been baking cookies, I decided to make some for Doink to savour while he is working. Also took some to let my colleagues to try and they love it. *smile*

Chocolate Cookies

Still feel a bit gloomy even after cooking and baking. Thank god I was much better just before dinner. Doink brought me to my favourite place to cheer me up.... My favourite McDonalds. Feel like I'm a little kid. I think I need Ronald McDonald next to me to bring a smile to me. *laugh*
Anyone can get me this lovely Ronald.... super cute....
.
Won't be around for the next 5 days as I'm off to Penang and Taiping. Gonna miss my kitchen loads. *sob sob*...

Bon Ton KL

Doink brought his family and of course me to this romantic dining place in KL call Bon Ton. The place is really dark and I don't really like it. I like to see what I'm eating. Okok, I know I sound so unromantic but I just tend to get headache eating in such dark places with bits of lights here and there. At least provide me with a bit more lights. hehe....

Bon Ton KL
.

Doink's parents ordered set dinner that comes with starter, main and local dessert. The starter is Top Hats which is also known as Pai Tee. Taste is so-so only. Nothing fantastic about it. I can get some really good ones in Melaka at a way much cheaper price.

Top Hats
.
I don't know what's this dish called. I only managed to try the curry chicken which didn't taste nice at all. The sauce was so watery and it tasted bland. Definitely not something I will order. The local desert that comes together with the set is Cendol. Didn't take any pictures as it didn't look interesting at all...

Some rice with chicken and vegetable...
.
And here is the Asparagus and potatoes soup with parmesan crisp. You have to add salt and pepper to taste and I have to say that I didn't enjoy the soup at all. Apparently Doink's brother doesn't like Asparagus and I didn't know why he ordered this soup.

Asparagus and potatoes soup with parmesan crisp

He also ordered Spinach and chicken sausage ravioli wan tan, tomatoes coulisse & saute vegetable. The tomato sauce is beautiful... very light and tasty. However, the ravioli didn't taste yummy at all. So it was pretty disappointing. After he finished his meal, he said that he didn't like spinach. Hmm... I'm really wondering why he is ordering food that he doesn't like to eat. Strange....!!!

Spinach and chicken sausage ravioli wan tan, tomatoes coulisse & saute vegetable

Doink ordered this black pepper chicken in mango sauce, almond rice, cucumber salad with chili dip and saute pak choy (RM40). The mango chicken was not bad but I wouldn't say it's fantastic for that kind of price. However, the rice was lovely, flavourful and delicious. It goes well with the chicken.

.
We also ordered Oxtail Stew with Zucchini, Carrots & Potatoes Served w/Garlic Foccacia Bread. Oooh, I have to say that this is quite delicious except that it's a bit tooooo salty to eat it on its own. I have to compliment on the garlic Foccacia Bread.... Soft and garlicy.... what more can you ask for?

Oxtail Stew with Zucchini, Carrots & Potatoes Served w/Garlic Foccacia Bread

Ooooh... this is the best dish of the night. I really have to say that this Chicken & Three Mushroom Pie was just so gorgeous. I felt like I was in heaven the moment I put it in my mouth... You cannot have enough of it. It's served with pumpkin, tau mui, and some kind of purple vegetable. *laugh* I wouldn't mind having this again for sure.

Chicken & Three Mushroom Pie
.
You must be wondering by now what I had ordered... I did not order anything but I managed to try everything... *grin* And I don't want to stuff myself with so much food as we ordered 2 different lovely deserts.
.
First is the Lime Delicious Ice Cream with Macadamia Meringue Biscuits And Braised Berries Sauce. Hmm... it's absolutely delicious. The Biscuits is good on its own. Serving it together with the Lime Ice Cream is perfect. However, I find the Braised Berries Sauce is a bit too sweet. Doink agrees with me too.
.

.
Next is the Peach & Banana Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream & Cream. I wasn't crazy over this desert as I find the taste was so-so only. But Doink somehow loves it a lot. The Peach was somehow overcooked that the Peach taste wasn't there anymore.

Peach & Banana Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream & Cream

.
The bill came up to RM260 after 15% discount with Direct Access Card. Well, not too bad but I actually doubt I will come back to dine here again. Apparently it's voted as the Top 10 most romantic dining place in KL. So to all the lovebirds out there, you can probably give this place a try.
