Christmas Pressie From Doink

Did everyone had a great Christmas? Well, I did enjoy my time with Doink on Christmas Day. We spent quality time together and I received a Christmas pressie from him. I felt bad as I did not buy or make any present for him this year. But then I did cook him a nice Christmas dinner which I will share it with you guys next.

Doink knows that I love tealight candle holders. Whenever I go shopping I will look at these items and was really tempted to buy them. But somehow I will end up not getting any of it. So he actually made a special candle holder for me 2 years ago.

It was really sweet of him and this is definitely one of my favourite pressie I had ever received from him.

This year he decorated a plate for me instead. And it is beautiful. I was saying he could make me a whole dining set including cutlery. *lol*

I absolutely love all my presents. Doink knows me well that I somehow appreciate gifts that are handmade rather than spending tons of money buying me luxurious items.

Anyway, 2009 is arriving in just a few days time. I wish everyone a Happy New Year. Hope everyone is gonna have a better year in 2009. I think I better start preparing my New Year's Resolution soon.

Fondue

Serving fondue is an easy and enjoyable way to entertain your guests in a relaxed social atmosphere. It allows you to prepare all the ingrediants at your leisure and only then enjoy the entire meal with your guests. Everything is done right at the table and everyone participate in cooking their own food. This is something similar to our chinese Steamboat style.

Fondue is actually a Swiss communal dish shared at the table in an eathenware pot over a small burner. The first time I ever had one was when I visited Paris with another friend during my University days. I was so excited to try the cheese fondue as I knew that this is one of the specialty in France. After I ordered it, only then I realised that cheese fondue is usually serves with crusty bread only and nothing else. It tasted kinda nice but I don't think it's suitable for those people who cannot stand the really strong taste of cheese. You must be a cheese lover to like it. Anyway, we also ordered a lamb and when the dish came, the lamb was kinda raw. We were not used to eating such a raw lamb. In the end, we ended up putting the lamb inside the hot cheese fondue to cook a little bit. *lol* And guess what, the lamb actually tasted very much better after dipping inside the cheese. Haha...

Anyway, I always wanted to get one of the pots so that I can prepare my own fondue. But somehow I will tell myself that I won't be making fondue that often and it's no point for me getting one of it. But my dear friend, Adam, actually came back to KL few months ago after staying in US since like forever. He bought me 2 beautiful fondue pots and triple dip sets which I absolutely love so much.

It was really touched to receive such a beautiful gift from him and Izet. Thanks a lot. Hugz!!!

Anyway, the present also comes together with the ready made cheese. So I prepared my own cheese fondue which is superbly simple. Just heat up the ready made cheese and pour it into the pot. Tadah, cutie made her own cheese fondue. *lol*

I prepared carrot sticks, hard boiled eggs, sausages, meatballs, toasted bread and cut some chunks of mozzarella cheese to dip it in the cheese fondue.

Doink and I both enjoyed the fondue. This is also Doink's first time trying the fondue. With this set, I'm going to try chocolate fondue soon to serve it with cookies, ice creams, cakes, fruits etc... *drooling*

Just another day to Christmas day. Happy Christmas everybody!!! Hope everyone had a joyous Christmas celebration.... And to Adam and Izet, thanks again for the beautiful pressie. Love it loads. Please come back next June!!! I had already reserved 2 places for you guys. *wink*

Just Love Christmas So Dearly

Christmas is the time of the year whereby every single malls will decorate with beautiful christmas trees, ornaments and some will come up with a theme for their design. As usual, every single year I will go to the main malls to look at the decorations. I just love Christmas Trees. And I guess that's one of the reasons why I love Christmas so much.

The following is the design from Midvalley Megamall.

This is the scene I love best. Seeing people - family, friends, couples etc - close to one another capturing pictures together for remembrance.

I love these 2 pictures. Seeing siblings so loving towards one another really touches my heart. I wonder will they still be so loving towards one another when they have grown up.

I usually love 1 Utama Christmas Decorations. But somehow this year is not as great as what I would have expected. Don't get me wrong, it's still beautiful. But I think it's lack of colours. Christmas should be colourful in my opinion.



Here are some Christmas Designs which I took. Btw, these Christmas trees are for sale. Can't really remember how much it is. But I definitely won't get one of these until I have a place of my own. At the moment I still love my RM40 Christmas Tree. Small and lovely. hehe....

I would say this year Curve has the best Christmas designs. Their street market is decorated with beautiful lights. And seriously it is really beautiful if you visit this place at night.



And their main decoration in the centre court is just soooo gorgeous. Everytime when I'm at Curve, I will sure spend some time admiring the decorations over and over and over again. Somehow I will not get bored of it (for the time being). *lol*

And this is the teddy bear that I love most!

Of course being at such beautiful places with beautiful decorations, I did capture some pictures with Doink for remembrance. And here is a picture which i took of him when he was trying to capture a picture of me. Hehe....

I can't wait Christmas to come but at the same time I know that I will feel really sad that Christmas will go as well. Anyway, I will treasure every Christmas that I'm able to spend with Doink. It's just another 6 days for Christmas to come. Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas!!!

Another Great Food Session

Cutie is back with her smile. I recovered from my pouty face and put up a smile this morning. Hehe... And today is my 114th months anniversary = 9 1/2 years anniversary. I'm no longer angry, mad or sad. Just woke up and I feel good. But anyway, have to thank all my friends who was there for me last night. Hugz to all of you.

Back to my food blogging. WIP at Bangsar Shopping Centre is a restaurant bar that serves various types of cuisine and different variety of brews. When BBO asked whether I'm free for dinner at WIP, I was like asking him what does it stands for. I never expect it to be actually called Work in Progress Restaurant. I know I sound really stupid asking such silly question. *blush*

This is a place with nice ambience and it is a great place to catch up with friends. The songs that were playing for the night was soothing and nice. I love that kind of music.

We were first served with tons of different detox and cocktails drinks. Detox drinks taste just like errr detox drinks - healthy!!! Hehe... Well, they have tons of variety and interesting drinks. Give it a try. As for cocktails, I absolutely loved the Lychee Martini. Highly recommended!!!

Here is our first dish which is Vegetables Pakoras - Fried Vegetables with spinach sauce. Delicious spinach sauce. Very tasty.

Cajun Chiken Tortillas - Marinated roasted Cajun Chicken Wrapped in tortillas and accompanied with a salad bouquet. I find this dish taste quite not bad. It is something that a lot of girls will love it as this is the tasty type of healthy dish.

Tempura Prawn with Dragon Fruit Salad - Warm and cold salad with a combination of tempura prawns and fruit salad. This is something very unique. But I guess it deserves a compliment for coming up with this dish.

Salmon Steak and Wild Rocket Salad - Norweigian Salmon Steak grilled to perfection and served with potatoes au gratin and fresh tomato salsa. I believe everyone at that table that night loves this dish best. Not a single person complain about this dish including me. *lol* The potatoes are absolutely delicious and the freshness of the fish could be tasted. Definitely is a must try!!!

Thai Green Chicken Curry - Boneless Chicken cooked in our home made thai green curry served with vegetables, kerabu mango and steamed rice. This did not get my vote at all as I find that all I could taste in the green curry is the spiciness taste. That's all. Psst... BBO can cook better than this... *lol*

Lamb Kebab on Hot Plate - Marinated Lamb meat cooked on a sizzling hot plate over a slow fire with fresh asparagus on the side. I quite like this lamb dish.

Nasi Goreng Petai - Delicious and fragrant fried rice with petai sambal, comes with salted fish and chicken wings. Didn't exactly try this dish but it does look good....

Lamb Chop - I absolutely love this dish. The lamb is cooked to perfection and the sauce goes really well with it.

Tofu Puffs - Stuffed with minced prawn mushrooms and mixed vegetables. Fried to a crispy brown. Lack of taste in my opinion.

Beefy Pizza - Beef Pepperoni, beef bacon, beef ribs, all beefed out. I just have to say SOULed Out serves better pizza compared to WIP. It's lack of taste and there is just not enough of pepperoni. I guess I'm not the only person who commented on that and in fact there were some bloggers who previously had commented their disappointment on this pizza.

Sang Har Mein - Signature dish of fresh blue leg prawn in egg gravy, over deep fried wanton noodles. Errr.... nope. To me, it does not taste like the typical sang har mein at all. I don't know what others think about it but definitely it's a no no to me....

And here is suppose to come the best part of the meal which is dessert time. Unfortunately I didn't find the dessert that amazing.

Homemade Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream. It's nothing spectacular but it's not a bad dessert.

Organice Crepes with organic fruits and melba sauce. Yes... everything in this dish is organic including the flour. I wonder is the sugar is organic too. *scratch head* Anyway, I find the layer of crepe is a bit too thick. There weren't any sauces like custard, cream to go with it which actually makes this dessert a little dry.

I think so far the best crepe I ever had was in Paris. Absolutely lovely. The crepe is so good that you can even eat it on its own. Yummy!!! *Cutie dreaming being in Paris with Doink right now enjoying a warm crepe together sitting by the bench watching the sunset*

And there was a little surprise for Sidney as it was his birthday. The staff brought the beautiful cake out specially for Sidney. The cake looks really lovely.

Anyway, it was definitely a great night out meeting all the makan kakis again. Can't wait for our next makan session.

Searching For That Missing Smile

Being apart with your partner is hard enough. Being apart and at the same time having a disagreement (aka argument) makes matter worse. This is what had happened to me yesterday night. Was really excited when I saw Doink online. But for some reason we argued for some small issues on msn. And I was feeling totally miserable for the whole day. It has been a long long time since I last felt this bad.

I was like this baby the whole day in class. I could barely put a smile up to anybody or anything. Even my friends who was trying to cheer me up failed totally in putting that smile I always have. Sigh....

But anyway, thanks to Andrew and Brenda for being there. Really appreciate it. Thanks for the movie too ya!!! And Joshua thanks for trying to cheer me up. It's really sweet of what you have done. Right now I just wanna go hug my little bolster and go get my precious sleep and hope that it will be a better day when I wake up in the morning.

Cutie is sad and want my favourite McD Egg McMuffin brekkie to be happy again!!!! Cutie wants to put her smile back again!!!! I miss my own smile....

Brekkie - Big Breakfast!!!!

Breakfast, the first meal of the day. Also a meal I look forward to it at times especially during weekends or holidays. When I was a little girl, I'm very excited to have breakfast with my family during holiday as my mom will prepare fried breakfast or we might go out to have dim sum which is something I really look forward to every time.

Therefore, I treasure the breakfast moments I can have with Doink and hope to make it the meal of the day that he will look forward to it. I try to wake up early during weekends or public holiday to have breakfast with him. And if I do make breakfast in the morning, this is what I will be preparing. Fried eggs, bacons, sausages, garlic bread or toast bread and mushroom or grilled tomatoes.



Yup, 2 eggs still a little runny with bacon crispy on the outside but at the same time still soft. Sausages that will always taste good. Tomatoes that add colours to it. Garlic bread / toast bread that completes the breakfast meal.



Oh, I was experimenting on the tomatoes. I was trying to grill it with garlic and see whether Doink likes it. He is not really a fan of tomatoes so he has no comment to it. He will prefer to have mushrooms instead. Anyway, in my opinion, the taste is not bad but that is provided you are a tomato fan.

This is the breakfast meal that Doink will always request. A satisfying brekkie. And to end the meal, a cup of fresh refreshing fruit juice (orange, apple and carrot) will definitely makes it a perfect one.

He definitely enjoyed it a lot as he really cleaned up his plate and left nothing there.



After a full breakfast, I had to rush to attend classes and gosh, that was tiring. By the time I reach home, it was really late. I had something light with Doink and we hang around together for a while before I drop on the bed. *lazy me*

Anyway, here is the picture of Mr. Monopoly which I saw at 1 Utama. For some reason I behaved like a little girl and was so excited seeing it. I kept on pushing Doink to snap a picture of it. I was soooo tempted (I really mean it) to take a picture with it. But then I was soooo shy that I dare not go near it.*blush*

Oh well, I think I'm happy enough to have a picture of Mr. Monopoly. Hehe... Doink don't be jealous ya!

Oh, now I'm looking forward to my next breakfast with Doink (probably in 2 weeks time) when he comes back from Singapore. Gonna miss him a lot. I must be tough... I think it's good that he won't be around as I will have time to figure out what to do for him for Christmas. I'm all excited about it - the pressie and dinner. Christmas Christmas Christmas!!!! Can't wait for it.
